I believe that a good relationship is at the core of counselling. Some of the ways that I think a strong working alliance can be built is through respect, defining and working towards goals together, celebrating successes, and navigating barriers and obstacles in a non-judgemental, kind way. Hello, my name is William Fraser. I am a Provisionally Registered Psychologist. I earned my Masters of Counselling from the University of Lethbridge. However, like many things in life, my journey to psychology was not straightforward. Before becoming a psychologist, I spent time being a sponsored snowboarder, construction worker, social worker, and marketer. All these careers were great, but my interest in people eventually brought me to counselling. I love helping people work through the many issues, obstacles, or concerns of life, whether big or small. In fact, I’m honoured to do this work.

But how do I work? At the foundation of my practice is the belief that “offering dignity to a person is above all things.” This quote might sound a little nerdy, but it reminds me to offer a space without judgment or bias, a space where you can feel safe to be yourself. From this foundation, I use a more holistic perspective that incorporates many ways of helping. My goal is to do my best to use strategies that resonate with who you are and what you want out of therapy. We will collaborate throughout therapy to make treatment unique to your situation, background, and personality. It is with this tailored approach that I believe lasting change can be made.

Available for:

Anxiety | Depression ADHD | Stress Phobias | OCD Family Conflict Psychological Trauma | PTSD Behavioural Problems Sleep/Wake Problems | Domestic Violence | Sexual Abuse | Identity | Social Skills | Bullying

Hello. My name is Saowanee Srisuriyamart. I am a registered psychologist in the province of Alberta. I received my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University and have been practicing in the field since the year 2018. I am also in the process of obtaining my Doctor of Psychology degree from California Southern University.

My professional journey began at Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, where I was a helpline counsellor. I was then employed by the Alberta Health Services (AHS) as a children and adolescent mental health therapist. I enjoyed my role working for AHS in two rural hospitals for almost five years before transitioning back to Calgary. In my current role, I work with children (as young as two years old), adolescents, adults, and seniors. I also offer trauma-focused treatments to survivors of trauma and abuse through a not-for-profit organization since the year 2019.

My areas of focus are Psychological Trauma, Abuse, Domestic Violence, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Phobias, Anxiety, and Depression.

My primary modalities include Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Play-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. In addition, I integrate Theraplay techniques, Culture-Infused Counselling, the Polyvagal Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology framework, and lifestyle psychology into my clinical work. I also utilize HeartMath for stress and anxiety management. Moreover, I am a certified practitioner of the Safe and Sound Protocol. It is a listening therapy that works directly at the polyvagus nerve.

I am a member of College of Alberta Psychologists, Psychologists’ Association of Alberta, American Psychological Association, Canadian Association for Play Therapy, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and International Consortium Play Therapy Associations.

A fun bit about me. I immigrated to Canada from Thailand over two decades ago. With my Thai cultural background and my Canadian influences, I value an integrative approach where the Eastern and Western philosophies meet harmoniously. I view health from a mind-body-spirit perspective and integrate different therapeutic approaches for individualized services for my clients. I was also trained as a certified yoga and meditation teacher at the world’s capital of yoga and meditation- Rishikesh, India. My typical daily routine involves praying, practicing meditation and yoga, practicing pranayama (breathing to reach a higher level of consciousness), yoga nidra, and following a set rules of Ayurvedic medicine. In my free time, I hike, nature walk, sing, and dance.

My goal as a therapist for my young clients is to help them to live a more adaptive life by working intensively with their parents so that the parents can help them in their natural environments. For adult and senior clients, my goal as your therapist is to help you to find your own path of self-reflection and self-healing. This work typically involves diving into your childhood experiences as well as the different aspects of you- the good, the bad, the ugly, and the things in between.

Are you ready to invest in your health? Then, let’s work hard together to achieve where you want to be.

Available for:

Phobias I OCD I Trauma and PTSD I Life Transitions I Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum I Hypnosis I Anxiety I Health and Wellness Goals I Spirituality I Depression I ADHD I Addiction I Parenting I Relationships I Self-Image I Values & Identity

Hello, my name is Jessica Johnson. Calgary is my home and I’ve also had the privilege of living in northern Alberta, Ontario, and Southeast Asia. I have a Master of Social Work degree (Clinical Specialization) and have been registered in Alberta since 2014. Early in my career I trained extensively in clinical hypnosis and strategic therapy; I’ve been a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis for a decade. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is another approach that I value and utilize in my practice.

I care deeply about working with people to achieve meaningful growth and change. This began from a young age and was especially influenced during my involvement in therapeutic wilderness-based and cross-cultural programs. My approach and style as a therapist has been shaped by many of these experiences. Ive come to appreciate the way in which growth can occur at the edge of your comfort zone. I’ve also learned the value of knowing where you are, where you’re going, and having the right tools to help you navigate. At times, the assistance of a skillful and knowledgeable guide (or counsellor) can be pivotal.

In careful consideration of each client’s unique presentation, skills and areas of need – I will strategically draw upon particular interventions and modalities. I believe therapy cannot be a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Your collaboration is important and we will work together to map out the most relevant pieces of the puzzle considering your individual characteristics and circumstance. It is an honour and privilege to walk alongside people through some of their most significant and challenging life experiences – a responsibility I am grateful for and do not take lightly.

Available for:

Depression | Anxiety I Bipolar Disorder | Trauma | Borderline Personality Disorder | Stress | Life Transitions | Relationship Issues | Grief & Loss | Couples Counselling | Polyamorous Relationships | LGBTQ2S+ |  DBT Groups

Hello, I am Audra Potter. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a registered social worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers. My experience working within different types of mental health settings has taught me to view the challenges people face from a holistic perspective, meaning I see the personal and environmental influence on the problems we face, how we are able to cope with those problems, and the paths towards healing that are available to us.

My practice is truly a reflection of my personality, style, and values. The things that I teach clients and use as treatment planning are not just evidenced-based techniques, but ideas and skills that I use as part of my own mental wellness practice. I work primarily through a cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral lens. Most of my work with clients starts with collaboratively exploring the issues that clients bring to therapy and formulating specific treatment goals that will guide treatment planning. I am a problem-solution focused therapist, meaning, I am interested in exploring the problems you bring to therapy and then teaching you specific skills that offer more effective ways to manage these problems.

One of my passions within therapy is facilitating DBT skills groups. I started co-facilitating these groups in 2018. DBT skills offer clients very tangible, concrete solutions to the problems in their lives created by ineffective behavior. It is such a wonderful experience being able to teach and share these skills with clients in a group setting.
